DESCRIPTION:The DeKalb Chamber Partnership & Community Foundation DeKalb County have partnered with The James Foundation to continue the exciting work we started last year with the Nonprofit Roundtable. Now renamed the Nonprofit Development Series we will be meeting quarterly to bring you industry specific professional development. We look forward to investing in your organizations the way you have invested in our community.\n\n\n\nThis month\, Kathy Terlizzi of the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo will be presenting The Importance of Onboarding Setting Your Volunteers Up for Success. She has 14 years of experience in this field\, and currently manages a dedicated corps of 422 active adult\, teen\, and intern volunteers. Her duties include administration of all volunteer programs\, and she recruits\, trains\, assigns\, supervises\, and evaluates all Zoo volunteers. She also covers planning\, developing\, coordinating\, organizing special Zoo events\, and interfacing with Zoo staff to implement new volunteer opportunities. She's a member of the Zoo's DEA& I and Leadership committees and has presented at the annual Association for Zoos and Aquarium conventions on volunteering protocols for the past 5 years. She's also a participant in the Volunteer Center @ RSVP organization in Fort Wayne\, IN\, networking with other local volunteer managers. Kathy resides in Craigville\, IN and in her spare time enjoys traveling\, reading\, animals\, and New York Yankees baseball!
