Sunday Spotlight - Export: Auburn's Global Impact
Presentations on "Classic Design," "Expanding the Empire," "Year of the Duesenberg," and "Behind the Scenes" are the topics of this lecture series. The Curatorial Department at the museum creates elaborate stories from the archival collection, and few guest speakers. Presentations are included in regular admission ($12.50).
This presentation looks at how the export department went from a small part of the company to a major force in sales, thanks in large part to Robert S. Wiley.
At its peak, the Auburn Automobile Company had 110 distributors in 93 different countries. Auburn’s exports accounted for 18% of total sales at its peak. This presentation draws on original photography housed in the museum’s archives.
