Featured Guest Speaker: Rick James


 

Rick James began his career in the metal castings industry as a laborer while attending college, eventually becoming CEO of Auburn Foundry, Inc. In 1997, he founded Metal Technologies, Inc., now North America’s largest privately held metal casting company, with facilities across Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Mexico.

Beyond business, James is deeply committed to community and service. He is Chair of the Board of the U.S. National Parks Foundation, Chairman of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and serves on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne, among others. He has also held leadership roles in several regional and national industry organizations.

A proud Trine University alumnus, James has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Distinguished Service Award, Honorary Doctorate, and Pillar of Success. Under his leadership and support, Trine has expanded to 10,000 students across four campuses.

His accolades include induction into the Fort Wayne Business Hall of Fame, Junior Achievement Hall of Fame, and receiving the Sagamore of the Wabash, among many others. He is also an active member of First United Methodist Church of Auburn, where he has served in leadership roles.
